Join our Coconut Craftsman at a fun series of workshops and classes, each specific to a particular creation where he guides guests through the art of stripping, carving and decorating coconuts. Watch how coconut husks are carefully hollowed out to reveal the wooden shells by using chisels, files, pliers and hack saws before being moulded into everything from spoons, bowls and candle holders to bespoke jewellery.

In a ceremonial fashion, each class starts with a lesson about the much-celebrated coconut as a traditional resource in the Maldives. You’ll learn about the history of coconut jewellery, its relevance to Maldivian culture and why it’s such an important part of our green journey.
